1) Tell us what genre you write and when did you start writing.
Isobelle: Paranormal and Contemporary Romance. I began writing when I was still in high school but became a published writer in 2013
2) Do you have a favorite book that you have written?
Isobelle: Gosh this is a tough one. Ha! Paranormal, I’d probably say My Haven, My Midnight (Book 5 of the Cynn Cruor Bloodline series), and Take all of Me (Book 3 of the Second Chances series). They’re my favorites because the characters are placed through the wringer. It’s about sacrifices, and secrets that can make or break a relationship and the protagonists have to go through inner and outer conflicts and come out stronger than they were before.

3) How about a favorite character from your books? Do you have a specific way you choose the characters names?
Isobelle: Female character would probably be Amaryllis Hart from My Have, My Midnight. Male character would probably be Zac McBain from Midnight’s Fate (his story isn’t over yet! 😉 As for their names, I look for the oldest Scottish male and female names since my paranormal romances involve vampire/wolfen hybrids who trace their origins in Scotland. At times, the names just come to me full-blown like Amaryllis’ or Eirene Spence’s name. Eirene is the heroine from Rapture at Midnight.
Red: Eirene is so original. I don’t think I have ever seen it on a book I have read before.
4) What is your favorite part of being a published author?
Isobelle: That I’m able to write stories that readers will love and get to engage with readers when I can.
Red: It must be amazing to see your words come together and then have other read it.
5) Where is the strangest place you had a book or character idea come to you?
Isobelle: Hmmm….not so sure if the shower counts? Sometimes, I just wake up in the middle of the night with a character or book idea full-blown.
Red: LOL, I need to start a list of all the authors that become inspired in the bathroom. It has become a running theme during my interviews.
6) I am sure you dont sit with a timer but if you had to guess how long does it take for you to write a book?
Isobelle: Oh wow…it’s getting longer and longer, I’m afraid. This next book in the paranormal romance series is going on it’s 6th month. This said, I’m unable to write as much now during the work week because of my day job so I only have weekends to write. I try to do the marketing during the week.
Red: I’ve been told that when the story talks to you instead of you forcing the story takes longer but seems to have the best out come.
7) Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
Isobelle:Â “Yes I do but it isn’t something I am obsessed about. You can’t please every reader who reads your book. I’m happy that there are those who love my books and I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them. However, because I already lack the time to write, I don’t purposely open reviews because whether good or bad it can affect the way I write.
Good reviews, I am grateful and sometimes I leave a message for those who review on Amazon or who email/pm me that they loved my book to say thank you too. Bad reviews, I try to look at it dispassionately. There are reviews that have valid points and I address this when writing my next book. However, there are reviews that are bad for the sake of wanting to put a bad review even if they have not read the book. This I sent aside because it isn’t productive to mull over something you have no control of.”
Red: Reviews are funny. Not HA HA funny but funny because they are an individuals feelings which can be influenced by so many outside factors. Those factors don’t always have anything to do with the book itself. The weather, how the reader is feeling (happy, depressed, angry etc) That was just something I was thinking about recently when reading a 1 start review. The person just seemed sad rather than the book being poorly written.
8) What do you do what you suffer from writer’s block?
Isobelle: “I have been asking myself the very same thing! LOL. I thought I was immune but now…
That said, when I feel one coming, I move away from writing. I either read a book or sleep. I haven’t been getting that much sleep lately. When my family is around I spend my time with them and write when they are asleep.”
Reds: Sounds like a great way to reset your brain.
9) Which of your books do you wish more readers were aware of?
Isobelle: I wish readers were more aware of the Second Chances series – my steamy contemporary romance series. There are now four books in the series, well actually three books and one novella (Book 2)

10) Did you have a mentor when you started?
Isobelle: No I didn’t have a physical mentor as such but I read a lot of books about writing. My favourite is Stephen King.
Red: Can up imagine how having Stephen King as a writing mentor would shape you? Amazing answer.
11) What advice would you give an aspiring author?
Isobelle: Keep writing. Don’t give up. Follow your dream, find your voice. Keep writing. 🙂
12) What can we expect from you in the future?
Isobelle: I have another paranormal series – dragonslayers. So I’m preparing the stories in this series while writing more about the Cynn Cruors at the same time. There are also two books I’m planning on writing for the contemporary series so I really need to manage my time well. Crazy huh?
13) Tell us something fun. Anything that can make us smile or giggle. Life is too short, lets spread some smiles around.
Isobelle: I’m a tiny 4’11. Went to the ladies room in Taco Bell and wanted to check if I had a had a smudge on my cheek. What do you know, the mirrors are a foot above my head. Needless to say, Taco Bell needs a step for small people like me! lol
Red: Short Girl Problems. I should know. I’m only 4’11” myself. We could totally high 5 without stretching.

I enjoyed this book! When I started reading this book I was not aware that it is the eighth book of this series. I will be going back to start on the first book. I want to meet all of Ms Cate interesting characters and their mates.
Luke and Adara takes you on a journey of secrets and betrayal. It is a journey of suspense, action, romance and mind blowing sex. There is so much intensity, it kept me glued to my seat.
Luke is given a mission by the Cynn Crusors. A mission that may get him killed.
After spending a night together, Luke knows that Adara is his mate. But Adara has turned Luke away leaving in the middle of the night and denying his love for her. To accept Luke, may get them both killed. If her secret gets out. Will Adara secrets be discovered? Will Luke forgive Adara for her rejection? Will Luke return from his mission to confront Adara? Join them on their journey and read the conclusion of thier story.
This story line is strong and flows with the characters. Luke and Adara will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I would recommend this book to all my friends.
