Royal Pines Book 1
by Donna Michaels
Donna Michaels recently released Finns’ Surprise, a book previously published as Cowboy-Sexy through TWRP and Cowboy-Fiance by Amazon Encore. It is now a full novel, with updates, extra scenes, and over 15k additional words.
Donna Michaels has always been at the top of my cowboy/military romance book 1-click list and this story right here is the perfect example of why her books are there. I read this story when it was first published and was excited to read again with it’s new content and wasn’t disappointed.
Everything about Finn’s Surprise hits my buttons for the makings of a fantastic romance that needs to be read more than once.
The ex-military man who is also a cowboy, check. He’s brooding and sexy as sin, check. A strong female character who can stand on her own to feet, but love being whisked away into the strong arms of her man. CHECK CHECK CHECK!
Donna Michaels style of writing keeps me smiling. It’s fun, sensual and I eat up every book she writes.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Rating: 5 out of 5.
Royal Pines Book 1
Royal Pines is another hot, humorous, heartwarming series from USA Today Bestselling Author Donna Michaels!
He never expected his surprise to be such a precious gift…
Finn Brennan was used to his brother playing practical jokes, but this time he’s gone too far–sending him a woman as a ranch hand, and not just a woman, but a Marine.
Discharged when her mother took ill, Lt. Camilla Walker is happy to help out at her former CO’s family’s dude ranch until he returns from deployment. Keeping busy is the best medicine since her mother’s passing, but she never expected to be thrust into a mistaken engagement to his sexy, twin–a former Navy SEAL who hates the Corps.
The Corps took Finn’s father, his girlfriend and threatened his naval career. He’s worked hard for another shot at getting back to active duty and won’t let his brother’s prank interfere. The last thing he needs is the temptation of a headstrong, unyielding, hot Marine getting in his way.

COMING OCTOBER 2020
Royal Pines Book 2
Payback is sweeter when the heart is involved.
Former Marine Trisha Jennings has a bright future—law school, a job in her father’s firm, and an engagement to a junior partner…there’s just one problem. Those are her father’s dreams, not hers. She doesn’t want to be a lawyer or a wife.
So when her friend’s fiancé tosses her a lifeline in the form of a fake engagement to his twin—her former CO—she grabs on with both hands. After all, the captain’s strong and immovable, the perfect deterrent against her controlling father.
Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he’s hot and she’s had a thing for him for years.
Former Marine Captain Brett Brennan loves a good practical joke, until the boot is on the other foot and he finds himself in a fake engagement to his sexy, former corporal. Realizing she is struggling to come to terms with an incident from their last deployment, and knowing his ranch is a great place to heal, he uses their fake engagement to help. Afterall, he’d always have his men’s six.
But Trisha is no longer a corporal under his command and out of uniform, she is all woman. He wasn’t expecting the strong attraction to the beauty or the fierce desire to help and protect her. Soon, it has him forgetting their prank engagement is just for show. Who knew payback could be so sweet?
**Formally known as Cowboy Payback, now updated with new revisions and additional words**

He walks by every day, I catch him staring, listening to me sing and play my guitar. I don’t even know his name.
Crazy I know but I can’t stop thinking about Office Guy. That’s what I secretly call him, Office Guy.
We’ve never even spoken to each other, but then one day he walks up to me and…

Hi Kim. I feel like we are old friends so I hope its ok to call you Kim. Thank you for agreeing to chat with me today. You are my first author interview so please be patient. Most of my members know that I am the crazy redhead with nothing but the best of intentions. With that said I have no idea what I am doing. I am just making it up as I go along.
Let’s get started. I see that you currently write contemporary but may branch out to other genres. That sounds like a lot of fun to stretch your creative mind.
So I am going through the interview form I asked you to fill out and I am blown away. When did you figure out time travel? I see you started writing in 2092. Is this a secret or can you share your travel plans with us? I would love to be able to see what the future holds, like get the lotto numbers and…..
Oh, that was a typo. I feel so silly. OK, So you started writing in 2002. Although that’s not quiet as exciting as the time travel spin it is still very interesting.
1) Do you have a favorite book that you have written?
Kim: Coming Home is my first and favorite because I wrote in 2002 while waiting to adopt our daughter from Russia. It saved my sanity.
2) How about a favorite character from your books?
Kim: I really like all my characters. They’re like my children in a way. I love Katie from Taking Chances. You would too. She’s a feisty red head!
A feisty red head? You are a genius.
3) Do you have a specific way you choose the characters names?
Kim: I use names that I like. Ones I hear and think I’ll use that…
Ever consider using Red??? Just asking for a friend.
4) What is your favorite part of being a published author?
Kim: When a stranger tells me they’ve read my book. I write because I have stories to tell. The fact that someone not related to me chooses to read them? That blows my mind.
5) Where is the strangest place you had a book or character idea come to you?
Kim: Not so much a strange place as time. I’m wrapping up my first series this year and starting the next one in 2019. Then a friend mentioned wanting to write a cozy mystery…and I’m off!
6) I am sure you dont sit with a timer but if you had to guess how long does it take for you to write a book?
Kim: Not really sure.. 15 years for the first one. I’m getting better! I’ve released 4 in 13 months!
You are on a roll! Go Kim! Go Kim!
7) Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
Kim: I read everything, even though they say not to. They are what they are. I try to learn from bad ones. I treasure the good ones!!
8) What do you do what you suffer from writer’s block?
Kim: Hasn’t happened thankfully. My issue is more about never having enough time.
Crap, I hope I didn’t jinx you. No writers block, no writers block. There that should work.
9) Which of your books do you wish more readers were aware of?
Kim: All. Of. Them!
GREAT ANSWER. I WILL GET TO ALL OF YOUR BUY LINKS SOON!
10) Did you have a mentor when you started?
Kim: Yes’m the lovely Jeni Burns, who is now my editor.
Shout out to Jeni Burns!!!
11) What advice would you give an aspiring author?
Kim: Write the book! Don’t give into self-doubt. Just write it. Then spend the money wisely. Use an editor. Have a cover designed.
12) What can we expect from you in the future?
Kim: Book 5 in my series will be released this fall
The Crowd goes wild!!!!
13) Tell us something fun. Anything that can make us smile or giggle. Life is too short, lets spread some smiles around.
Kim: I’m obsessed with Candy Crush!
Ok, just a thought, if you are looking for some more time to write delete Candy Crush from your phone. I am just looking out for your fans that don’t want to wait for your new books. xoxo
Anything else you would like to share?
Kim: Thank you for this fabulous opportunity!!!
Thanks Ms. Kimberley O’Malley for being a good sport and letting me test out my interviewing skills on you. Like I said the Redhead does things her way. I hope you and everyone reading learned a little bit about you and smiled a lot.
Oh and heres some more good stuff. Kim’s first book and a little bit about her.

Today we are here with Isobelle Cate. Thanks for stopping by to chat. Let’s get starts.
1) Tell us what genre you write and when did you start writing.
Isobelle: Paranormal and Contemporary Romance. I began writing when I was still in high school but became a published writer in 2013
2) Do you have a favorite book that you have written?
Isobelle: Gosh this is a tough one. Ha! Paranormal, I’d probably say My Haven, My Midnight (Book 5 of the Cynn Cruor Bloodline series), and Take all of Me (Book 3 of the Second Chances series). They’re my favorites because the characters are placed through the wringer. It’s about sacrifices, and secrets that can make or break a relationship and the protagonists have to go through inner and outer conflicts and come out stronger than they were before.
Red: Those sound amazing. Reds review team have read several of these. Their reviews will be listed at the bottom of this interview.
3) How about a favorite character from your books? Do you have a specific way you choose the characters names?
Isobelle: Female character would probably be Amaryllis Hart from My Have, My Midnight. Male character would probably be Zac McBain from Midnight’s Fate (his story isn’t over yet! 😉 As for their names, I look for the oldest Scottish male and female names since my paranormal romances involve vampire/wolfen hybrids who trace their origins in Scotland. At times, the names just come to me full-blown like Amaryllis’ or Eirene Spence’s name. Eirene is the heroine from Rapture at Midnight.
Red: Eirene is so original. I don’t think I have ever seen it on a book I have read before.
4) What is your favorite part of being a published author?
Isobelle: That I’m able to write stories that readers will love and get to engage with readers when I can.
Red: It must be amazing to see your words come together and then have other read it.
5) Where is the strangest place you had a book or character idea come to you? (more…)
